License Study/Testing

During these trying times of the Covid-19 Pandemic with meeting in “Groups” being a violation of State and County mandates, Tri County ARA has gotten countless inquiries about classes for Technician, General, Extra training and available testing for Amateur radio licensing. We will try to provide some options that we know about right now, things change quickly so if you know of other options/resources please let us know so we can add them to this page. TCARA Officers remain in contact with our local VE team and Brackett Field, whenever the facility opens for “Group activities” we should return to regular monthly testing.

For some good training to accompany your ARRL study guides try YouTube.com search “Amateur radio study guide”. I personally recommend Dave Casler (a good friend of mine) and KB9OKB. There are plenty of other resources on YouTube but the ones mentioned directly focus on the books/question pools.

Use some of these Amateur radio online practice tests to check your progress and help focus your study to improve your scores and pass your test on the first attempt.

An extremely useful Resource is a license syllabus provided free of charge by Jack Tiley AD7FO at:
