My First HF Antenna

An important part of your first “Ham Shack” is your first HF Antenna as will all aspects of your new shack Antennas are a personal choice but type of real estate will likely dictate your choices. Most Hams start frugally with a simple Dipole, even a dipole provides many choices, Conventional Dipole, Off Center fed, end fed, etc. some provide multiband operation others are “single band”. You can construct your own (very inexpensively) or purchase manufactured products. Dipoles easily lend themselves to portable operation so if you upgrade, the dipole will still serve as a “Go-Kit” antenna.
